Worried about weight loss.
« on: December 04, 2010, 01:02:53 AM »
I seem to myself like I've lost a good bit of weight. I'm worried this could mean something serious like the C word or something. Sorry I post so much a day but it seems like I'm always thinking of something new that worries me.

I can sympathize with your concerns! I have also recenty lost about 10lbs in the last 2 months and this has me completely freaked out. I have also been going through a great deal of stress. I don't want to run to the doctor because perhaps I feel as though I'm overreacting. I have started charting my weight, just to keep an eye on things. I am going to see how it fluctuates over the next month and them maybe see a doctor if things don't stay stable. More than likely your weight loss is due to stress and anxiety as well. Take care!

10 pounds in 2 months is nothing to be alarmed about.

Yes, stress and anxiety can affect your weight.

Last year during this time I got sick with a bad sinus infection and probably lost about 5 lbs., which is a lot for me since I only started out at 93 lbs! (I'm 5 feet tall).  But after the sickness was over, I started in with the anxiety and that definitely took away my appetite, not only because I was stressed out to begin with because I thought I'd get sick again, but then I started worrying if I"d ever put the weight back on!  IT took a little while, but I am now back to my normal weight and know that the weight loss was mainly due to sickness, but a lot of it was also due to the anxiety so to make a long story short, stress and anxiety will do a number on your body and definitely cause you to lose weight.
