Annoying Symptoms
« on: November 30, 2010, 03:07:21 PM »
Why is it that one dumb symptom can ruin your day?  Started out feeling good today, just running around like usual dropping the kids off for school and going to the store.  I was in a hurry to do something on the computer and I guess I tensed my neck muscles up too much and now the right side of my neck is sore and it is going up the side of my check and into my temple area.  It's not a headache, thank goodness. but I can tell it is bad muscle tension.  Kind of like if you had clenched your jaw too hard.  Am going to try some ibuprofen to get rid of it but it's just annoying because then I start focusing on that and can't even enjoy the rest of the day.  All I can think of is being able to go to bed and start a whole new day tomorrow.  Other than that, I've been feeling really good lately, but these dumb symptoms just drive me nuts!

I am in the same boat as you.  I have been feeling great, then after lunch I started getting a little pain in my neck and jaw area.  Now it is ALL I can think about.  I keep thinking...what if it turns into a bad headache.  What if my muscles get so tense it makes me dizzy, etc.  I hate the What If's.  I am trying my best to keep myself occupied and not think to much into it.  I hate the symptoms so bad.  I mean, I hated the Panic attacks too, but the symptoms are so annoying!  I hope you get to feeling better soon.  Try to do something fun and forget about the darn things.

Ha, sounds like that we are at more or less the same place in our recovery!  Yes, I don't know why these minor symptoms get transformed into these "what if?" types of thoughts.  Especially because the majority of the time, the pain does go away and I get on with life.  But in the meantime, it is still a part of HA that I could do without!
