Another question about smoking.
« on: November 19, 2010, 01:26:37 PM »
I have been wondering why lately smoking gives me a headache...or makes it worse when I already have one. I read somewhere (not recently though) that smoking can enlarge blood vessels in your brain and give you the dreaded A word. While I know all the complications smoking can cause..and I know I should quit soon anyway. Still I'm hoping it would not do this to me now..having only been smoking for over a year. I'm only 20 years old..and people who have smoked for years only worry about lung trouble/breathing trouble..and yet I'm worried about brain trouble from it  NOW. Any advice on whether or not I should worry about it. I know I need to quit and I want to..but I still wish I didn't have to worry about this.

you're only 20? heres my story:)--
Im 39, have been around 2nd hand smoke all my life and I have smoked for over 20 yrs. Yes longer than you've been alive. STOP NOW before you drive yourself into the regret that I am now trying to overcome. It's much easier to stop so early. Then you dont have to have the added worry later of "when will i get lung ca from all those yrs of smoking?" When you're older & you have babies-you dont want to have to feel bad for putting yourself at risk before becoming a parent-when you see the little face that needs you so much:)
Smoking has always given me headaches & made them worse. If thats the worst thing I'll face from all the smoking-what a blessing it will be:)
I'm on day 7 of the patch and praying for continued non-smoking status:)
Good luck.
