Tension headache or what?!
« on: November 17, 2010, 03:15:37 PM »
I am trying to figure out if what I am feeling is a tension headache or BP. I woke up this morning with a head pressure and pain in the very back of my head, near my neck. I feel pain at the top of my neck (where it meets my head) and then it goes up to the back part of my head (occipital area) and a little around the bottom sides into both sides of my jaw. I also feel like every time I turn my head or bend over that it is full of water. Lots of pressure.

I have already taken three advil and it has only dulled the pain briefly.

If I push with my fingers to where the two musckles in your neck meet the two parts of your skull that stick out a little, like behind your ears, it is a VERY sharp pain and makes it worse.

My coworker told me that when her BP is high she can feel it in the back of her head, so it always worries me when I feel this.
