a wonderful day at court
« on: March 12, 2007, 09:07:30 PM »
i had to go to court today for a speeding ticket, and it has to be one of the worst situations for a panic attack suffering person like myself. i had to wait in line for about an hour and then into a court room and wait for about an hour and a half to see the judge. i had a panic attack the whole time and at one point almost got up and walked out of the court room. i also felt like i was going to pass out most of the time. as if it werent bad enough that i was packd like a sardine in the courtroom with all kinds of people there was the added nervousness of being called up in front of everybody to face the judge. i just kept breathing and ignoring the panic because i knew that if i walked out i would have a warrant issued for my arrest and going to jail would be panic attack sufferers hell, anyways just venting thanks to anyone who reads.

Ughhh!  I'm sorry to hear about your miserable time in court.  I can imagine your panic.  A few months back I completely freaked out when I got my first jury duty notice in the mail.  The thought of having to go through jury selection and then possibly sitting in the juring box for however many days terrified me.  I was so relieved that I was able to be excused from it.  I don't think I would have been able to eat at all during the process because I become physically sick during my panic/anxiety.  Good job making it through it.  It was tough, but you made it.  That's great.
