anxiety symptom?
« on: March 14, 2006, 08:00:22 PM »
i notice that when i look at my eyes in the mirror, my pupils are the same size and all, and they dilate with light etc, but they kinda of fluctuate or waver in size slightly and it kinda freaks me out. is this normal? it seems to do it a lot more when i have a panic attack and i first noticed it a year ago when i had a massive panic attack and a month ago when i had another massive panic attack and the last few weeks its kinda kept doing it. I also feel kinda woozy maybe like the room is moving and i cant focus my eyes too great at times, and kind of like the room is moving or something, but not like im dizzy exactly.........

I read on the internet somewhere that this is perfectly normal, especially if you're in dim light, and nothing to worry about.  It happens to everybody.  It just recently happened to me, and of course, I freaked out too, but when I took a mirror and looked at my pupils under brighter light, they were exactly the same size.

And I do know that people with anxiety disorders can have vision problems that come and go.  Did that too, had my eyes checked, and nothing was wrong.

Now, if one pupil is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay larger than the other one, that's something to worry about, but a small difference is okay.

Don't worry, you're fine.

All the best,

Melanie

Isn't it funny the things we notice?  I noticed the exact same thing a few months back and freaked out too!  When I went to my next Dr visit, I asked him.  He looked at them and said one was slightly larger than the other but nothing to worry about.  Apparently a slight difference is perfectly normal!  I've had a lot of blurred vision too and having trouble focusing but it usually seems to be pretty brief and then I can get back in focus.  I think you are fine  :)  Take care!
