ANXIETY SUFFERERS PROFILE!
« on: March 07, 2007, 01:49:37 PM »
hey all,

this is random, but i always wonder going through my everyday life if there is anyone else i know (or don't know) around me that suffers from (hidden) anxiety. i also wonder sometimes if any of the people on this forum could be people that i know...anyone else ever wonder? here is what i am mainly curious about, and i would really like to get as many responses as possible: i want to know the profiles of my co-sufferers (without revealing too much about yourself of course), for instance here's mine:

female
20-25
single mom (w/boyfriend)
Christian
southern
lower - middle class (if you want to add a caste system)
college student - major: Christian counseling (ironic, i know, but it's because of my suffering that i want to help others)
income: $40-45k working in the computer industry
hobbies: reading, writing, learning, helping, imagining, martial arts, dark beer (not in excess).

get the jist?
just reply with whatever OBSCURE information you would like to divulge regarding your personal profile. this is just for mine and anyone else's curiousity, you don't have to post if you don't want to. this would also help people to know who they can relate to more because of similar situations, etc. and to help us all know that anxiety sufferers come from all walks of life.

thanks!

Those good old english lads - "The Pet Shop Boys" - knew what was best...do you not remember that seminal chorus?

Go West - Life is peaceful there
Go West - In the open air
Go West - Where the skies are blue
Go West - This is what we're gonna do

Indeed, a slightly later 80's band even called themselves "Go West" in homage to the utopic land they had heard about called Lanca's Hire.
Both bands knew on what side their bread was buttered.

So there you have it - Go West, of the Pennines.

Sorry folks, but for Gloomy I forgot to add.

If further proof were not needed, I give you evidence from the mighty Lord of the Rings.

When the Nazgul (Dark Riders) in LOTR kept uttering "Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiire" (Shire) to Frodo, they couldnt be heard properly. Its a commonly misunderstood part of the book/film.

You see if you listen closely to the film you'll hear them actually whisper "Goooooo toooooooo Lannnnnnnnncasssssssshiiiiiiiiiiiiiiire" (Lancashire).

You cant argue with Neil Tennant, Peter Cox and the Witch-king of Angmar (Lord of the Nazgul) - they all knew on what side their bread was buttered.

The west side.

OH Yes I forgot to add I have an image of you sat there racking your brains trying to think of positive attributes of Lancashire, with a flat cap on, a mouth full of black pudding and miners boots on, with a canary close by, I have to add The 70's comedy group The Goodies epitomised ecky thump to a tee.

The goodies, goody goody gum gums.

Its a fair cop lass. I loved the Goodies.

I wont go on about Manchester where I'm really from...   (t'was part of Lancashire years ago).

We're almost living up to the two characters in the film of the same name...War of the Roses.

PS> West side rugby....er, Saints, Wigan, Sale, Warrington.....

Fair enough you have some decent rugger teams yon side of the pennines, however, the they should take up using their mobile phones while driving as its the only way they will manage to gain 3 points LOL.

Anyway how are you doing?  Hope things are plodding on OK.

I'm not sure if I'm the best person to tell you about paganism as I'm not the most devoted practicer of it. But here's some basics of it.

Basically most of pagan religions think that the nature and all things in it are sacred and the different pagan religions generally have many deities they believe in, both gods and goddesses. I think my personal beliefs are most closely suited by wicca. Wiccans also believe in many different deities and they especially tend to worship the goddess. The one basic rule of wiccan religion is that as long as you harm none, human or animal alike, in any way (physical, mental, emotional etc.) you can do as you will. It's not an easy rule to follow when you really think about it. Wicca also states that there's is not one right path to follow, but every person has their own path and therefore there is not one right and true religion and everyone has the right to choose the one that feels right one for them.
There are many different pagan religions such as wicca, shamanism, druidism, asatru and so on.

If you're interested, you'll find a lot more information on the subject through google, I'm sure.  :happy0151:

Thankyou so much for that info. I didnt realise there were so many variations/similar faiths.  I suppose I hae always felt there is something else out there beyond church and christian faith.  I was brought up catholic and dont practice, I have very little belief and faith in it at the moment.  I wanted to look at other veliefs and spiritualities as I am still on a quest for some inner peace.  I do feel a bit empty without any real spiritual belief system, a bit lost in the wilderness I suppose I mean.  I will google and see what I can learn

Thanks again
