Hi, to everyone....as I mentioned I'm new to this forum.  I am however not NEW to ANXIETY ! I have tried just about everything , seen soooooooo many different types of doctors, tried the meds they all perscribed, and still having attacks.  I have heard of a program called the LINDEN METHOD, and was wondering if anyone here has heard of it or tried it ? It seems to be a credible program, I am still rather sceptical though, because there are so many people and life coaches out there that claim to have the cure for anxiety, and the cost of this program when converted into my currency, is not exactly Cheap.  So I guess I just wanted some kind of confirmation that this works, before investing any more money, into something that doesn't work!  Please !!!!!  If anyone has heard of it...let me know !  Thank you

Check out under" medications and therapy" I have a chart under "Medication table- different groups"

If you have been on lots of medications you could see if they fall under the same group that work on certain parts of the brain.  Maybe this is why the meds didn't work if they all came from the same group...thats what happened to me. Now I am on a medication from a different group and I'm doing real good.

Behavior therapy is also a real good idea. Changing the way you look at things and react to situations can be very effective on bringing your anxiety to its knees.  I am currently in behaviur therapy and am closer to being where I want to be than I have ever been before.

I am on Nortripline(anti-depressant)...Clonazepam(anti-anxiety) only when necessary.

I also went on Risperdal(anti-psychotic) only because too many changes in my medication too quickly and my chemicals in my brain were scattered and I was in real bad shape(Severe depression and rage) Ditched the psychiatrist that did that to me.

keep posting here...I found this to be very therapeutic for me...you get advice when you need it and you may be able to give advise, after all we are all going through the same stuff and knowledge is power!!

Hi again,

Realized I should have put the post under medication and therapies, so I copied and pasted. lol  Unfortunately for me, I can't use any of the SSRI anti depressants as I am serotonin sensitive, and I know that they can be quite helpful for anxiety/panic disorder, even though they pay worsen the symtoms for a short time initially.  So my doc now has me on a drug called RIVOTRIL and TOPAMAX.  Not taking away the anxiety completely so i'm a little concerned. Anyone here heard of those drugs, cos I haven't heard of any of the ones mentioned by some in other posts.  I live in South Africa, so maybe just use different names, for the same type of drug !????

What is a beta blocker?  Do you take when your going to have an attack? or all the time? do you need a prescription? I new to all the meds that I keep hearing so I am just interested to find out as much as I can.
