Lactose Intolerant
« on: February 26, 2007, 11:45:54 AM »
Anybody have Lactose intolerance.  i recently had some problems after drinking whole milk.  I usually drink 1% and last week I was drinking whole milk and I ended up with an array of stomach problems.  :fragend005: Anyone have this?  It freaked me out all weekend.  My mother-in-law was the first to put two and two together so to speak.

hi,

I dont have this, but my boyfriend does. He can't drink much milk without bloating, gas and stomach pains. The best thing to do is to cut out milk altogether, apart from a little bit in tea perhaps. Although, as you said it was whole milk that gave you a problem, if you stick to skimmed and semi skimmed you might be okay. Otherwise
you can try soy milk - I hear it's an acquired taste, but might be worth a try. My boyfriend sticks to small amounts of milk in tea and uses yogurt on cereal instead of milk.
