Generalized anxiety disorder/Phobias
« on: September 17, 2010, 02:08:31 AM »
Does anyone have Generalized anxiety disorder? how do you deal with it? how does it affect you?

What are some specific phobias y'all have? For me sometimes it's talking on the phone like calling doctors offices or calling a new place. Driving is a big phobia for me..I don't mind being in a car but driving makes me feel really weird and like I almost have a panic attack and I feel overwhelmed with it & being lost either in a car or while walking around. anything new scares me. Does anyone else have these fears?

My issue seems to be health related.  Like I am going to have a heart attack etc.

Every little pain or sensation causes anxiety.

I have an intense fear of having an allergic reaction, not being able to breath ect. I also tend to over blow every little thing that feels wrong with me.

Started out as health anxiety. Morphed into OCD (more obsessive than compulsive).

My biggest issue is thinking about "it" and not being able to shake it. Medication has helped bring down the intensity of those thoughts.

I'm the same as above, started getting stressed out, then worried about why I was so stressed/anxious all the time. Thought I must be cracking up which then morphed into obsessive thoughts of going insane. Really scary and unsettling but hopefully think I'm on the right track now.

I have been having panic attacks.. I have always been anxious at least for as long as I can remember.. I am on Xanax and my doctor wants to put me on an anti=depressant.. I don't want to go on one because I have so many problems with side effects... please let me know what you think

I am totally afraid of death and my body. Every sensation I google and have a new disease. I have a fear of traveling and losing people and things I love. I constantly think I'm about to die of a heart attack and always think my foods killing me either through bad for the body, spoiled, undercooked, poisoned or I'm allergic.....constant back neck and chest pain, lightheaded racing heart, shortness of breath and numbness. I always think that when I hear abt someones death or illness its a sign I'll die that way.....still learning to cope.
