Hypnosis for quitting smoking-anyone tried??

  I'm looking for people who have tried to quit smoking with hypnosis. I'd like feedback on whether or not it worked & how you feel.

I never tried it for smoking purposes. Tried it for something else and it simply wasn't for me. They would try and put suggestions deep within the subconsious mind. Because that is were a lot of life is played out. To get the idea that you don't need smokes in that deep and make you believe you don't need them. It is more about if you believe such things can work or not. I went to one with an open mind. But I couldn't be put under. Some people are far easier to put under than others. But make sure you ask a few questions first if you are going to try it. How many sessions it will take. Some, I think, just want to make money and try and keep you coming back over and over again. Smoking shouldn't take that many visits at all. One way of knowing if they are genuine or not. And the price as well. Just check it all out in advance. It may be for you. It may not be for you.

I have tried the hypnosis for smoking. It does work if you actually listen to it and feel it. I did not smoke the entire day after I listened to it. The only reason I started back was because I kept joking about wanting a cigarette and at the end of the day someone gave me one and I smoked. You are supposed to listen to the cd everyday for 2 or 4 weeks so that the message is actually implanted in your mind. It does work but I couldnt spend an hour of my life listening to a cd every night.

It's been 45 days since my last cigarette.  I quit cold turkey after reading a book called "The Easy Way to Stop Smoking" by Allen Carr.  The book was recommended to me by another person who had stopped smoking.....I was very skeptical at first, to say the least.....read the book, decided to quit and haven't picked up a cig or wanted one since.....it may be worth a try for you.....the book is certainly gonna be a lot cheaper than hypnosis or cd's!  See whatcha think and let me know if it works for you as well as it has for me.  Good luck!

For hypnosis to work, you have to really want to stop. When my aunt got pregnant with my cousin, my uncle went to see a hypnotist to stop smoking. It worked wonders for him, he never had cravings or anything. I know it just doesn't work for some people, when it does work, it works wonders.

Many years ago, my mother went to a hypnotist to lose weight.  She ended up quitting a 30 year smoking habit, but struggled with her weight for the rest of her life!
