Help! There's to much going on for me to cope
« on: March 07, 2006, 05:39:02 PM »
Hi All,
I am hoping that a few of you might have some ideas as to how I can cope with all that is happening to me right now. I have my daughter who is ready to have her baby and my son who goes in the hospital to have back surgery. Both kids don't live that close to me and I can't drive and rely on my husband to take me places. Now my daughter is going to need my help while she goes in to have baby #5 and I just don't know if I can handle all the grandkids. The 2 older ones aren't to bad but the 2 younger ones are terrorists in training. Also, my son lives in Ohio and I'm in Utah. How can I be there for him when I can't even drive and my daughter is needing me too. I am a wreck with thinking of all these problems and have been having a headache everyday for the past 2 weeks. I want to run away. PLEASE anyone got any ideas?

Thanks,
 Valerie  :(

Hey,
Sounds like you have a lot going on. I feel overwhelmed too sometimes. We have four kids, three dogs, two cats, and a plant :-D. My fiance and I are both in school full time, and we both work. It gets really crazy. When I get really stressed out it helps me to write about how I am feeling. Also, its good to make a list of what HAS to be done and what can wait. I tend to think about everything at once and that is really stressful. You are only 'one' person. You cannot do everything. Just do what you can. I'm sure that if you talk to your children they will understand. I hope this helps.

Amariah,
Thank you so much for you input, I do appreciate it a lot. I tend to let things get to me and I am one who can't stand not being in control of situations. My daughter goes in monday to be induced and that is the same day as my son's surgery. I have to babysit my daughter's 4 other kids, and believe me, I am not happy about it at all. I never wanted my daughter to have a 5th child as I feel 4 was plenty but she does what she wants. She never considers that I can't drive and that her dad will have to take time off of work. She was going to have her inlaws babysit as they live just 3 blocks from her but they went out of town and if you ask me, they did it on purpose. Now today, we are having horrible weather, winter has returned full force here in Utah and it will remain unsettled through the weekend. So I can't even have the weather cooperate. I just want to run away. Ok, thanks again for your input.
