No, I feel the same. I have massive issues getting to sleep...but once i've gotten deep enough into sleep i can fall straight back into it.

its nearly impossible for me to sleep, takes me hours just to nod off. I have to wait untill i practically pass out from exhaustion. I wish the process of getting to sleep wasnt so daunting ¬_¬

I will eventually fall asleep, but have trouble staying asleep. I don't get a restful nights sleep and wake  up several time throughout  the night. Once  I am awake, my mind begins to race. Sometimes, I can relax my body to a point where my legs, arms etc become heavy and relaxed so I can't feel anything ( if that makes any sense) but my mind continues to race. I think my body is programmed to wake up at certain times. Past few days i have consistently woken at 3:40 am and lay awake until I get up for work. Because of this I am exhausted most of the time.  Same thing happening right now. Luckily tomorrow I have off, but when you have to work the next day it becomes extremely frustrating. Alright, sorry forvthe long reply. Off to try and fall back to sleep.

I have this problem too. Constantly having anxious thoughts run through my head. Replaying the day's events and dreading the next day entirely. It can be very hard for me to fall alseep and enjoy it fully. I find that when I overthink and overworry it's really not productive or helpful. I need to have that good night's sleep in order to face the next day with some sort of enthusiasm and energy.

What helps me a lot though is: having a nice, cool room to sleep in, turning off all my electronics, taking a nice hot shower or bubble bath before bedtime, listening to a relaxation CD, sleeping in a dark room, and trying to meditate and clear all my thoughts before I go to bed.

Tonight I am definitely looking forward to a good night's sleep :happy0151: A long week deserves a long rest!

I have the same problem. Feel like I can't turn my mind off. I can't let go of the smallest thing. When I do fall asleep, I'll wake up throughout the night feeling like I forgot something.

Sounds simple, but to increase my chances of falling asleep I'll stop having anything with caffeine after 6pm, take the dog for a walk to make sure she sleeps through the night, and try to put on soothing music to go to sleep.

I have also found that sleeping with a sleep mask helps tremendously. Maybe it's a way to remind my eyes to stay closed! =)

I have insomnia. It was brought on by a very bad migraine. I have never had a normal nights rest since. I had a unusually bad and very long migraine. By the time I was taken to hospital I was very, very sick. The ER docs gave me morphine, toradol and phenerghan. After fluids and a few hours of rest I was sent home. The migraine returned latter that night. It eventually went away. My normal sleeping pattern never did. I would go to sleep but wake very early in the morning. My night just kept getting shorter. Till eventually I never went to sleep. I stayed up watching the TV buying ridiculous things I did not need. The came the hallucinations. I went to my internist and told him what was going on. He gave me ambien-CR.  Hoping the med would retrain my body how to sleep. It never learned. The very few times I have not had my med I will not sleep. Not sleeping night after night is torture. I t doesn't matter how tired I am sleep will not happen.

I have not had restful sleep in at least 25 years.  I wake up as exhausted as if I never slept.  It is torturous.
