God and Fear
« on: August 26, 2010, 09:43:01 AM »
Romans 6:16 "Don't you realize that whatever you chooose to obey becomes your master?" Fear was my master.

*Fear told me not to drive. So, I obeyed.
*Fear told me not to fly. So, I obeyed.
*Fear told me what I could and could not do.
*Fear told me there is no hope. So, I believed.
*Fear told me I'll never change. So, I believed.
*I had more faith in fear than I did God.

Listen carefully to these instructions from God. "Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and hlep you; I will uphold you wiht my rightous right hand" (Isiah 41:10)

God promises to strengthen you and help you. He promises to uphold you and carry you through the fear, if you'll trust him. God doesn't promise you freedom from the storm-he promises you protection through the storm.

God can be trusted. He loves you more than you realize. Today, through Jesus Christ, turn from obeying fear, and turn to God. Let him carry you through the storms of fear.

Take that step, for God promises you this: "When you go through deep waters and great trouble, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown! When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you."

AWESOME!  Thank you for this post.  It is so true.  I know that God is my savior and will keep me safe all the time.  And yes, I do let fear control to much of my time.  It is time to put GOD first and let fear fade away in the distance.  This is my goal...

And what of all the believers in God who suffer? Would it not confuse those who strongly believe in the words of God? That they have ended up as they are. Yet they still hold onto that belief that God will carry them through. How long does one hold on for? Because, no doubt, if by way of medication, they improved tomorrow, they would say it was God who made them better. Remove the medication and they would suffer once more. An equal balance has to be found. And even preached. That God is always there for you. He is the ears when you want to cry out. He has a house you can visit. To talk to him. But medication is there for you too. Theraphy is there for you too. They too can take away your fears. Give you peace of mind. When used together with your God they can make you powerful. It is never about selecting one over the other. When both, combined, get the job done.
