Don't Touch!

Let me preface this with the statement that I do not really think I have OCD, but I do have OCD tendencies.  It’s just not extreme enough to be OCD.

CleanCleanClean had posted that she had to touch the handrail from bottom to top.  Well, I do NOT touch handrails because they are dirty!  It's not so much that there are germs on the handrails; it is that they are just dirty...greasy...people don’t wash their hands.  People put their hands all over their faces then touch everything and get everything greasy.  People eat food and don’t wash their hands afterward.  I drive my sister and nieces crazy with this.  I make sure my nieces always wash their hands after they eat (before too).  If they come to my house, they have to keep their hands "clean."  I do not let anyone use anything of mine.  If someone uses my pen/pencil, I clean it with alcohol and wash my hands or clean my hands w/ alcohol.  I keep my desk/phone/computer cleaned w/ alcohol too.  None of my co-workers know what I do after they've used something of mine.  It's crazy, I know!
I don't want anyone to touch me unless I know they have washed their hands.  At dinner, it really REALLY bothers me for people to eat with their hands then just wipe their hands with a napkin...and NOT wash their hands ewwwww...it's so disturbing to me!
When I open a door, I always open with the left hand (if possible) because I'm right-handed and I touch the handle on the edges or in the least worn area.  If I have something to open the door with, I'll use that...or let someone open it in front of me.  I just feel like no one is as clean as I am.  In reality, I know I am not THAT clean...no one is ::sigh::  I know it's all in my head...but it drives me crazy...I don't think  I am ready to change though…I don’t see that I can.

hi velouria, thanks for your reply, should of said in my post that im a man but dont worry. i to am like you where now if i go out with my mates say down the pub and when im there need to use the toilet i can not leave the room touching the door handle cos i see so many people leave with out washing there hands, so i use clean toilet paper, cos nothing in the world would make me touch it bare hand.but its also any door handle any where. got to go to work now but will post some thing when i get back, stay happy :)

I am EXACTLY like you! My friends and family think I'm a freak but I just can't stand it when people don't wash their hands! My hands are red with little cuts on them because I wash them so much!
