trying not to worry, digestive ? (sorry if tmi)
« on: July 31, 2010, 11:18:51 AM »
Hey all, continually trying to deal w/ my HA, some days/weeks are better than others.  Right now I have a "real" illness, it was either a cold or allergies that has developed into sinus stuff (even in July..uggh).  I noticed a couple of times especially after eating salad that its not completely digested (like pieces of lettuce/cherry tomato).  I'm no stranger to digestive problems but those issues generally seemed to resolve quite a while ago.  I heard a story couple of years ago where the guy said symptoms (of his serious disease) was "floating poop" (not digested food) and of course my mind immediately goes there.  Any advice?  thanks!

Well, I will add to your tmi...

My husband just made chili last night with corn it, well, guess what came out today..the corn.
Some foods are very hard to digest and won't be digested all the way when you poop. Totally normal. One time I had a piece of red velvet cake and later that day, my poop came out red. THAT was scary. Once I realized it wasn't blood, I had a good laugh. You have heard, "you are what you eat", well you poop what you eat. If you eat salad and greens for a week straight, your poop will be greenish in color.

I am not sure about the floating poop thing. I have seen others post about this, and I guess I really don't pay attention to that. Sometimes. mine sinks, sometimes in floats, and sometimes it is kind of doing both. From what I know about bowel diseases, those symptoms are pretty obvious. I think you are fine.
