New "Ignore User" Feature Added...
« on: February 07, 2007, 05:54:40 AM »
Dear Anxiety Zone Members...

Hopefully this feature will never have to be used but here goes... :winking0008: .

When "agreeing to disagree" doesn't always work or if someone is bothering you, you can now use the new "Ignore User" feature. To access this feature, click on the "Profile" button at the top of the forum (or on your name) and then from the left pane (in the "Modify Profile" section), click on the "Ignore User Options" link. This will display (to you only) the following text in each one of the ignored user's posts and PM's...

"This user is currently ignored."

You can add as many users to your ignore list as you like by adding a different user to each line in the text box. To un-ignore a user, either remove them from the ignore list in your profile or click on the "Unignore" link in one of their posts (under their name).

This feature does not work in the chat rooms.

To ignore a user in the chat room, simply right-click on their name and from the menu, select "Ignore". This will cause their name to be grayed out and you will no longer be able to see anything they type. To un-ignore them, follow the same instructions as above, only select "unignore" this time.

Chat rooms are generally more "lively" places than forums because people often feel more at ease to "cut loose" and just have a good time. While this is great and something we definitely encourage, sometimes it can go too far and end up being disruptive to those who are in the chat room to seek help and support for their anxiety-related issues - which is first and foremost, what this site is all about :happy0151: .

If you are offended by something (or someone) in the chat room you have several options available to you...

* Create a private room and then invite others to join you. You can also password-protect your private room to prevent other members from joining unless they know the password.

* You can find another like-minded member in the same room and have a private chat with them by right-clicking on their name and selecting "Private Chat".

* You can right-click on another member's name in the chat room and from the menu, select "Ignore".

* If someone is using vulgar or profane language, you can rely on our constantly updated (but not overly-restrictive) "bad words" filter to catch some (but not all) of it.
