Excessive Sweating
« on: July 19, 2010, 03:36:49 PM »
I have always been a heavy sweater but it seems like it is just getting out of control.   I know the heat obviously has a lot to do with it,  But there are times where I will be in an air conditioned building and I will just start dripping sweat and getting pit stains.  I never really had this problem before.  I do not feel that I have been anxious at all for the last 8 months or so.  I'm not sure if it has to do with the meds (paxil 20mg) or if it is just social anxiety.  I'm not heavy or out of shape at all so this just has me embarrassed and confused.
Anybody have any tips to help me out with this problem.

I've always been a bit of a sweater...but when i started taking SSRI's ( prozac ) this ramped it up quite a bit. Now i get sweaty palms and sweaty head when I'm out in the heat.

If you ask your doc for some drysol...it is a bottle of water like liquid that you rub on your hands (or wherever ) that significantly reduces sweating. The application usually last for about a week. It's only like 5 bucks.

I think mine is a combo from anxiety and made worse  by my meds. Increased sweating is very very common on meds from my research.

I'm also on Paxil 20mg on my way off it. I am also sweating alot from this medicine. I usually don't sweat much at all. If you read about Paxil, or other SSRI'S, it's usually in the top 3 side effects of these drugs.
