GERD?
« on: February 03, 2007, 01:29:52 PM »
I don't know if I can get GERD because I'm young and don't mostly older people get it anyway? But I've been having a lot of mucus in the back of my throat that I always have to swallow and sometimes when I burp I burp up some acid tasting stuff from my stomach and when I lay down sometimes after I eat I can feel like a weird sensation kinda burning feeling coming from my stomach and going up to my throat. And sometimes it feels like I have a lump in my throat and It feels like I have trouble swallowing sometimes and I get pain in my throat. Also I get hoarseness, not bad just occasionally but when I get it I clear my throat and it goes away...? Weird. I don't know does anyone that has it here have this and do you think that this could be GERD? I'm not sure because I am young.

Anxiety can produce more acid in your stomach.  Causing all kinds of uncomfortable or even painful feeling or reflux.  I would go talk to your doctor, there are meds that can bring down the acid in your stomach.  Good luck
