Sleep apnea?? Anyone know about this, taking sleep test...
« on: July 01, 2010, 05:21:20 PM »
So I went to the cardiologist today and due to a questionnaire I answered while waiting I scored really high on the possiblity of having sleep apnea, so I have to take the sleep test in a week or so. She said it might be the answer for all my weird BP issues and other things I have had. My BP today was great...112/72, so she said she doesn't think it is a BP problem but something is making it irratic.

So, anyone out there with sleep apnea?? I thought that you had to be overweight and snore to have this, but apparently you don't as I am niether. She said the stress it is putting on my heart may be causing the BP to fluctuate. It would also explain why I am always so tired and have trouble getting out of bed, etc. I am not so much worried about the test, but would rather have some surgery that might help rather than the cpap maching (not attractive!!). I have VERY VERY large tonsils, which she said might be doing it, or they will also take a CT of my nose to make sure I don't have an obtruction there.

I tried a neti pot and the water would not come out the other side of my nose, and I can't usually breathe through my nose half the time, so I am hoping one of these two things, or both might the cause for the apnea. I am a little afraid to go to sleep tonight though as she was asking me if anyone in my family has died in their sleep. Yikes!!

Honestly, I don't have sleep apnea, however I do sometimes wake up forgetting how to breathe. It's a b itch -_-

Losing anxiety is like losing weight: It comes off very slowly and at a steady pace with a LOT of hard work, however if you start overeating again (Worrying in our case) it comes back full blown in a week or two.

Other than being tired ALL the time and wanting to sleep for hours and hours, I have woken up in the middle of the night a few times gasping for breath. I never really thought of it before, and it has been rare, but now I am wondering if that may be the case. I don't snore, and I am not overweight, so I guess those don't have to be factors in having it from what I have heard.
