Death of a Loved One
« on: July 01, 2010, 11:33:33 AM »
I was diagnosed with GAD and panic attacks recently, although the symptoms have been around since I had a major rollover car accident in 2007. I also have hypocondria.

First of all…My current BF is 25 years older than I am. I am 25 and he is 50 (anyone that thinks this is gross and is just going to belittle me can leave now - I have heard it all before, so please don’t waste your time).

I don’t think this has as much to do with the age difference as my anxiety itself. But my major fear right now is that I am going to lose David in an accident, or before his time. Obviously, I know that he will most likely die before me, because of the age difference. That is something that I also struggle to deal with, but I struggle with death anyway. A lot of the time I worry about being alone, and how I will cope with his death. A lot of the time, I end up in tears and try to assure myself that he is not dead yet, and that I need to enjoy the time that I do have with him, so that I have a lot of good memories when the time does come that he leaves this world.

So my question is does anyone have anxieties about losing the people they love? If so, how do you deal with it?
