Crazy Health Anxiety
« on: June 30, 2010, 02:53:21 PM »
I have had panic attacks for 8 years now.  I have had them every day, and every day they are a struggle.  I also have a severe problem with being a health hypoconriac.  You would think that after over 80 ER visits, i would be fine right?  I am 28 years old, and i feel like im dying every minute of every day.  Ive managed to give myself high blood pressure and high cholestorol, even though i exercise every day.  every day at work, i end up looking symptoms on google, or asking questions on that website justanswer where you talk to a doctor.  My scariest symtpom is the shortness of breath.  It drives me insane and i dont know what to do.  Doesnt anybody understand what I am going through

i can relate to the breathing problems. its been an issue of mine for awhile now and its starting to become severe.

i have had alot of docs tell me it won't kill me but that doesn't stop me from feeling like it will.

i can empathize with how you feel :) but a good point to remember is, you dont have a breathing problem so in theory you dont need to worry at all, for example i have quite bad asthma diagnosed since 1993, and im doing just fine like everybody else with asthma :D its an age old classic example but, breathing in and out of a bag really seriously helps! have you had a try with that? i remember i used to just sit and watch my breathing get shorter and shorter all day it seemed like, then the whole show would begin with sharp chest pains and you know the rest :D ! the think i found quite helpful was actually concentrate on something totally different if you feel it happening, like i used to start concentrating on how often i blinked, sounds silly but, just to get you not thinking of it all the time!
