Pressure in head
« on: June 29, 2010, 11:07:32 PM »
This isn't necessarily something I really freak out about, but I just want to see if anyone else has this issue.  Because of my worsening anxiety, I can no longer lay on my back to sleep because I feel like I can't breathe.  Now, I sleep on my stomach and I'll lay at the end of the bed so I can keep my head up and watch TV 'til I fall asleep.  Anyway, whenever I lay down on my stomach, I get this terrible pressure in the top and sides of my head to the point where my eyes feel like they're bulging and I get this strange noise inside my head as well and sometimes I even feel a little faint. This usually goes away after 30 seconds to a minute after I reposition myself.  Like I said, I don't really worry about this too much but would like to know if anyone else gets this as well.  Thanks!

Yes! I get this and I haven't been worried about it thank god. But whenever I lay on my stomach, the pressure builds in my head, sometimes it even causes some indigestion too I think. But just a tip for you, I layed on my stomach and watched tv with my head cranked up for like 9 months now and I have some sore muscles from it. I also have a mild bulging disc that could have been caused by something else, but my physical therapist said always support the neck and spine when possible. I know the feeling of not really being able to breathe though and I never attributed it to anxiety, but I'm sure it is.

Losing anxiety is like losing weight: It comes off very slowly and at a steady pace with a LOT of hard work, however if you start overeating again (Worrying in our case) it comes back full blown in a week or two.

Unfortunately, dknyc it's not something that happens to everyone.  I wasn't trying to get a diagnosis, just wondering if anyone ever got the same thing as I did.  That's all!  Of all the people I've asked, I don't know anyone, until benefit posted, who had this issue.  It's not a big deal, I don't worry about it so  I wasn't asking for reassurance just for those who are wondering.

I actually get this when I am sitting down in a chair for extended periods of time. I'm thinking it's from discs being out of place in my back and neck, so I plan on going to a chiropractor.
