does your mind ever feel numb?
« on: January 28, 2007, 06:29:53 PM »
This sort of goes along with the whole out of reality feeling....sometimes my mind will just feel numb...it's weird. Like I don't really have any thoughts or like I can't access any thoughts.

sadgirl,
yeah, that is how I feel...kind of zombie-ish. it's like most of the time my senses are in over-drive, but then sometimes when I have the "numb mind" feeling it's like my senses are deadened.

I'm just interested .....are you on meds?

There are some meds that can make you feel somewhat disengaged or detached at times.
Paxil did that to me from  time to time.

I am, but I had this feeling all the time before meds too, so I don't think it's the case this time.  But I was on a medication before that made this feeling much worse.

Same here. Its hard to explain but I feel that deep down I dont love or hate anybody. When I get very happy or very depressed I start to feel emotionally numb.

yes, i posted in the other topic about my issues with my gf and her sexual past.  but a lot of times when my mind starts obsessing it leads me to getting depressed and then my mind becomes numb - actually that is the exact word i use to describe it to my gf and therapist.  my mind is void of any thoughts/emotions and i cannot access any thoughts...

such a strange feeling

anyways, i just came across this board today but it feels kinda good to see that im not the only one with these problems.

my mind sometimes feels numb. well it's like I can't laugh or cry or anything. Its like my emotions are dead, or sleeping and need to be woken up again.

I totally know how you feel. I feel like I'll never go back to how I was/felt before the GAD/Panic Disorder became a part of my life. The smallest things make me freak out MAJORLY and sometimes I'm so down I feel like I'll never be happy again.
