I have serious HA. AND yet part of me truly believe Illness is illusion, ego. We are really whole are healthy, we might go through changes but under that we are fine and whole in the eyes of the creator, great spirit or whatever you want to call god!

Take it easy.  Call on someone to talk to, get a prescription for a benzo to calm down, and do something to take your mind off what you're thinking.  By the way, the what did your doctor say??

Did you got to talk to the doctor? The doctor called me once asking me to call her back. Then she said I had a Vitamin D deficiency.

I love what you said. I think we are all whole and perfect the way we are. That doesn't mean we don't suffer sometimes -- the first Noble Truth of Buddhism says that it is in our nature as humans to suffer. Even if one is not Buddhist, I think that thought has validity.

I have been on this kick where I think all my symptoms are in my head, and that if I try hard enough and get wise enough then they should go away. My husband pointed out that there may be something real going on that is of no consequence -- either aging related, or hormonal-related.  In other words, the only two choices are not something terrible, or all in my mind.  My symptoms aren't awful, just annoying/irritating but I have been check, check, checking to see if they are still there and wondering what it all means.

I am breaking down and going to the doctor as well, (it is time for my annual visit anyway) with the mindset that maybe there is something to do to relieve some symptoms, and not trying to find or rule out some terrible disease. I will try to keep in mind that whatever is going on with me is fine, and that what is really "me" cannot be changed.

THE DOCTOR SAID; THAT I MIGHT HAVE A THYROID DISORDER (HYPOTHYROID) SO I HAD TO IMMEDIATLY DO A BLOOD TEST TO MAYBE RULE IT OUT AND I HAVE A POSSIBLY EARLY REPOLARIZATION OF THE HEART WHICH IS A BENIGN ARYTHMIA. SO THURSDAY OR FRIDAY I GET MY RESULTS FOR THE THYROID. I HAVE TO BACK TO THE CARDIO TO DO A STRESS TEST. I ASKED MY DOCTOR IF THIS WAS DUE TO ANXIETY AND HE TOLD ME THIS IS ALL ORGANIC.

Well these are all important, and easily addressed issues Mike, so I would say it was a good day for you!  Do you feel encouraged to have a direction now?  You should take a deep breath and know that you are in good care, and these are very common issues.

My friend suffered from anxiety and went to the doctor after she went three times in a row to the ER thinking she was dying.

The doctor did a tyroid test and found it was enlarged. It was radiated and no more anxiety.

My best friend has hypothyroidism. As long as you don't let it go untreated (ex. if you don't take your medicine), you WILL be perfectly fine. My friend just has to take a pill every day to make up for the thyroid hormone that her's doesn't make -- not a biggie at all.

I though hyperthyroid causes anxiety?
I wish I could figure out if my thyroid was a mess. My tests come back normal, but I still think my thyroid is hypo because I have a lot of symptoms of low thyroid.
AND perhaps severe anxiety is one of them, even hypo.

that would be news to my brothers in law who are shrinks.

yes some anxiety issues can be caused by hyperthyroidism.  But I would call into question that MOST anxiety issues are caused by thyroid or pituitary issues.   For instance I know for a fact that my thyroid is not an issue and from other blood tests all of my hormones were working normally.

If you do have hypothyroid, then it is easily treated.

*edit to add*  and there are some organic diseases that can cause anxiety but most anxiety issues, at least according to most doctors, is not organic but mentally related issues.

Also my sister has hypothyroid.  And I've had several friends who have also.  It is easily treated.  Additionally my eldest was tested for all of that because of her brain abnormality lends itself to endocrine issues.  Her thyroid showed it was functioning a bit low (which was quite funny because she showed more signs of having a hyperthyroid).  Her GP put her on a hypothyroid med.  I took her to an endocrinologist but he thought her thyroid was not at a level that needed meds, so we took her off of them.

The good news however Mike is that it is probably tyroid related for you. Unlike like me who had her thyroid tested multiple time in order to find a cause for depression and anxiety...
And nada every time.

What that means is that soon you are feeling better and your hypochondria will be mostly gone once you are treated.

I have been taking synthroid for Hypothyroidism for several years now. So does my mom.  It is a benign condition that is easily treated. It can also run in families. Don't freak about this. Your doctor will start you on a low dose and have you come back a few times to take blood and adjust the dose. That is normal, don't freak if he wants more blood work.  Sometimes it can take a year to get the right dose. It took me almost fourteen months.
