Heart PVCs and PACs! Back with a vengeance!
« on: June 15, 2010, 09:12:10 PM »
After 4 years without one Pac or PVC they are back and worse then ever! I woke up Saturday morning with my heart skipping away. They have been a constant Sustained PVCs since Saturday. Went to ER twice who did the usual tests 3 EKGs a Chest Xray and all the Blood Work. All came back normal besides the constant PVCs and Pacs. They say there harmless and don't pose any threat  but it sure does not feel that way! I can feel everyone and its really exhausting and annoying . I wish they will just go away again! Anybody else experience these?????

All the time!  These have sent me to the ER so many times I can't even count.  I've had so many EKG's, holter monitor and a stress test.  I am told that every time they are not harmful.  The only thing that has ever taken them away is time.  When I get them (which is often!) I drink lots of liquid because dehydration makes it much worse, and I go for a walk to exhaust myself.  I can't feel them when I'm walking, so I do it a lot.  Hope you feel better!

I'm right there with you.  I have had the flutters since my early 20s (now in my mid 30s) and they would come and go.  Recently, they have been much more frequent than ever before.  I used to only get them once in a while, but for the last several weeks, I will get them constantly (a few every minute) for several hours.  I usually get them in the afternoon/evening and I have noticed that strenuous exercise, alcohol, and caffeine do trigger them.  I have been to the ER, had all of the tests, followed up with a cardiologist, etc. and everyone says that they are harmless PACs/PVCs and that I should try to ignore them.  This is hard to do because I feel everyone of them and my anxiety doesn't let me just forget about them despite all of the reassurance I have received from doctors.  Hang in there...I know it is tough to ignore them.

And, although I'm sure you probably already know this but, once you get these extra beats, the tendency to then worry about them will set you up for the inevitable vicious cycle.  The more you worry, the more they will occur, etc., etc.

I find them almost impossible to ignore, but that's what they say you should do.  When I'm in a particularly good "phase" of my HA, I can ignore them.  And, surprisingly, I'll realize later that, HEY, they're gone.

They are annoying though.     >:(
