Real Illness vs Perceived Illness
« on: June 14, 2010, 10:02:01 AM »
I remember a conversation I had a couple years ago with a therapost. She was telling me that soldiers who suffer from depression and anxieties are actually doing fine in a war situation. Now, I don't know if the military fed her the info but in a way it makes sense.

When Patrick Swayze was dying on Pancreatic cancer he still worked on the set.

We Hypochondriacs seem to be paralyzed by our perceived illnesses and it seems at times that life passes us by.

Would we really act like we act now if we indeed had a terminal illness or would we live our lives like write the book you always wanted to write, go sky diving , explore the world and stuff like that.

I sometimes wonder but I do not want to find out.. LOL

i agree with this.  it always seems like when people suffer a serious illness that they are strong and live life to the fullest.  I have an acquantance dx w/ last stage cancer, her response "I can handle it".  I'm in awe.  Sometimes I feel like I'm the weakest chick around.  I get angry at myself thinking I should be a much stronger person
