I totally get the "head thing". it is a hard one to describe, kinda fuzzy tingly but not really, maybe like an actual fuzz in certain areas of the brain.  This happens to me before the feeling goes into my neck, once its in my neck I am beyond self control...I no longer am able to calm down until the anxiety consumes me and I get exhausted.

Please check out the medication chart I have posted under the medication and therapy board on this forum.
The ativan and xanax are anti-anxiety meds.  If you want an anti-depressant that will help your anxiety do not just come up with the stuff you hear about more, like Prozac.  In this chart it shows the different meds in different categories because they work on different parts of the brain.  If something works for you but the side-effects are too bothersome then you could pick something in the same category...if something doesn't work at all then try something in a different category.  Remember to discuss all your concerns with your doctor.

I am a mother of 2, I have suffered for 15 years.  My children need me to be the best me, it hasn't been easy finding the right medication, lots of horrible side effects that compromised my parenting. But now I am pushing forward with behavior therapy and the right meds and my children get to have the best me more and more often.
