One long anxiety/panic attack causing physical ailments?
« on: May 16, 2010, 09:53:55 PM »
Can anxiety attacks come in more subtle forms that causes these physical symptoms. As I wrote in another post, one of my many symptoms is 6 weeks of lightheadedness which varies in severity. When I went to the ER, they took a CT scan and found nothing wrong. The ER doctor said I am probably hyperventilating. I told him I don't hyperventilate, and he said that things aren't always like in the movies and that a person can hyperventilate without even knowing it. They just breathe more rapidly throughout the day.

Can anxiety or even panic attacks be like this...subtle in nature as well as severe? I have so many bizarre and painful physical ailments, that I just can't believe that my body is falling apart like this or that I have dozens of physical problems and my body is breaking down. Well, I don't want to believe it. I am hoping it is only anxiety and that these physical symptoms will reverse as soon as I get the anxiety under control.

These many chronic symptoms are so severe and bizarre that I can't help but think I am in a constant 24 hour a day, 7 days a week panic attack, only it's so subtle (therefore, I'm not even aware I'm having an attack) that it's not like the traditional panic attack where you're heart races and you feel impending doom.

Hi
Thats me exactly, I often wonder the same thing surely its just anxiety related even though I dont feel anxious all the time I always have light headed or pressure on the head, or digestive problems my husband says there is always something wrong with you and it seems that way. Im just putting it down to anxiety.

I hope you feel assured that your not alone with these feelings.

Yes. I have tinnitus, digestive problems, ocd ( which is the root of my problem!) And I am alaways in fight or flight. Get the adrenaline down,  somehow and I think these symptoms will go!

i feel like I have anxiety everyday also. Its not a severe panic attack like you siad where you think you are having a heart attack but just this dull weird sensations. My new one is dizziness which comes and goes all day. When it goes I feel like, yes! I'm better and then it creeps up a little while later leaving me feeling deflated and upset all over again!
