hey everyone i have a question

does anyone of you know how i can tell if i have swollen lymph glands  in my neck particulary under my jaw? if i look at my neck and under my jaw in the mirror it doesn't look swollen and it doesn't feel like i have them either.(like wouldn't there be some discomfort in your neck?)  i went to the doctors a few weeks ago and he checked under my jaw by lightly touching that area and didn't say i had swollen lymph nodes i think he just said good..then moved on but i didn't ask him. if i did do you think he would have told me? i regret not asking because now i think i do and its worrying me. and now i check my armpits and groin area too. so does anyone think they can tell me how i would know or explain to me if they ever had them what theirs felt like??? also..i get like achy feelings in my neck and armpit area but i felt my armpits and i feel no lumps and i've got it in my groin area too but i feel no lumps there either at least i'm pretty sure there isn't any. sorry to make it so long.

You could definetely feel them if they were enlarged. If you don't feel them and the doctor didn't feel them, why would you keep trying to find something? Are you not feeling well or have you had an infection?

I agree with Bcrazy.  If you really had swollen nodes, you would feel them and in come cases be able to see them.  When you have an infection and your nodes in the neck are enlarged they are quite enlarged.  I really wouldn't worry about anything.  If you are sick or feel sick, go to the DR's for confirmation.  Or call the nurse at the office and he/she will explain.

No, I don't feel sick or anything I don't have a cold or the flu..I was just wondering because I thought they were and if I wasn't feeling sick then maybe it would mean they are cancerous or something

Cancerous lymph nodes are very large and easy to find.

Oh. Well I'm still worrying about it if I have cancerous ones or not but I don't see any lumps on my neck or anywhere so I guess I don't?

If you are still worried about it, I would suggest an appt with your PCP and get it checked out.  It may ease your mind a bit.
