I think this SSRI is causing more harm

I was put on prozac a lil over a month ago and since then i cant stand myself. I was only put on it to even out Ativan for GAD/panic attacks, I didnt take the prozac for about a week so all the ativan i was taken made me feel down, so i decided to take the prozac. In this time i stay angry all the time at myself, i dont want to let it out so i dont, i think the strangest things and it scares me, i cant sleep or eat and i swear i am going crazy arguing the fact with myself. I shake all the time and have weird dreams that i always remember where as i didnt before. Its only 20 mg. and i was just wondering if anyone had ever been like this from prozac or any ssri's of does it sound like its just me?

A good sign you should stop taking the prozac. This side-effect has been documented and is known to lead to suicidal/homicidal behavior. Throw the pills away. They're obviously not working for you.

I knew they could cause suicidal behavior but i didnt know the other part, that scares the crap out of me because i have been having strange intrusive thoughts, please tell me i wont be this way forever.

Hi Tship,

There are so many meds because they act differently in people.  If you feel this way, I agree, stop taking those and talk to your doctor ASAP.  Just because this one didn't work for you doesn't mean there isn't one that will.  Hang in there, it's trial and error sometimes.  Don't forget to call your doc.

I did today i have been trying to stick with this one but im at my end and ive had so many crazy scary thoughts i just want it to stop, im afraid to try anything else and im afraid my mind wont be the same even after i stop the prozac. My doc just wants me to go have a evaluation but all i know is that this stuff is not for me i think it has literally made me loose myself and my mind.

call you doctor and ask if you can shelf it. meds should not make you mad.

i did, i dumped all of em yesterday afternoon, so hopefully i can go back to normal, i hope.
