Fatigue
« on: April 12, 2010, 09:56:16 PM »
I am just getting over an extremely anxiety ridden 2 weeks of hell. I started having panic attacks again. It has been years since I have had them. So now I am starting to calm down but I am exhausted. Is this normal? I am so tired and have been for the last 3 days. So of course this has me worrying about the cause. I always get very worried when I am tired. Any ideas?

My first encounter with panic lasted about 2 weeks. I had no idea what was going on. It can definitely wear you out. There were days I felt like staying in bed all day, I felt all spaced out, and sleepy all day. So yes fatigue is very common after an attack.

I think that is completely normal.  Having 2 weeks of extreme anxiety can definitely be draining.  I know that when I have high levels of anxiety, I am exhausted and tired.  Take a couple days, if possible, and try to relax and catch up on sleep, and hopefully you'll be as good as new!

I have read that this is a common side effect of panic. Whenever I have bouts of intense panic, I always feel completely drained afterwards. I'd say this is totally normal and makes perfect sense because panic causes your body to become so tense and then you finally relax and your body begins to let go off all that stress and tension. If you think about it, how could that not leave you feeling exhausted. I would say you have nothing to worry about. The thought that there is something wrong with you because you feel tired or fatigued, is just that; a thought.
