SSRI side effects
« on: April 01, 2010, 08:27:36 AM »
since starting on a low dose, i have noticed that i have a tremor, vivid dreams and a general foggy feeling through the day. i have been on it two weeks. my sleep has improved (thank GOD!), but i also noticed in that weird phase between wake and sleep i have the most random thoughts. it could be that i've had those thoughts all along, but because i'm so hypervigilant of my emotions/thoughts, i'm just now noticing them.

how long before they start to go away? just in general- not neccessarily zoloft, but any SSRI.

I suppose it's your first time on a SSRI? I think it's 2 weeks. Then, some side effects will go away, some will stay. They could all go away too. For example, it's my day #8 on zoloft at 25mg. I had constipation, it lasted for 3 days only. I had night sweats for 3 nights only, I had a boost of anxiety since 4 days I think and it's still there, and I'm waiting before to go to 50mg for this anxiety boost to slow down. I took zoloft already in the past and when time passed enough, I was taking it and even not thinking about it because the only remaining effect was little tremors.

When I raise the dose, the side effects are back but less powerful. At 75 they will be even less, 100 more again...I don't know why but it seems that the worse is at the start. Some side effects can also appear later, i.e. like at the end of the first week. A psych told me also that a very low dose can give side effects that will not be there at a higher dose.

Your vivid dreams may be a side effect. In fact anything new can be one. You have to wait to see if it will go away. I know how it's hard. I'm into it right now.
