These are some of my worst fears which spark my anxiety and lead me to react irrationally:

What if my boyfriend dumps me?

what if he doesnt call me today? omg im going to have an anxiety attack.

What if I never get over these problems?

What if I humiliate myself in front of others?

What if people reject me?

I have to be in control I HAVE to know everything that will happen in the future and I will not rest until I feel secure.

(please let me know if you feel the same so I can relate, it would help me)    :)

These quotes have made me rationalise things a bit better in my head. Thought it might work for others :)

Here are my typical high anxiety thoughts....

Why me?
Will I ever get over this?
Will this condition get so bad that I can't work?
I hate the physical symptoms of anxiety.. yuky feelings, tight trap muscles by my neck, tension, fear, dread..
What can I do to finally get over this?

I have those too, "why me" and the one about will it get so bad I cant work. It has for me. But thats because I'm quite young (19) my first experiences were with people that werent too friendly with me....and it stuck in my head, hard to budge. I'm beyond scared of how any normal person would be when going to an interview. Thinking about applying for jobs gives me a sense of dread.

I had a breakthrough though the other day :) Applied for jobs. Got an interview, went yesterday, I thought it was going to be a group interview at one point and I almost walked out but I gained the courage to stay :) I was successful and got a second interview on Monday :) Its an observation day though so high anxiety on humiliating myself....feeling quite bad about it but I'm going to go.

The guy said I seem very friendly :D I was happy I managed to take a positive someone said about me.
Sorry i know that was lengthy just felt like writing my achievements down :)

I've had an idea of making a book, im in the process of it now :) I've printed off what generalized anxiety disorder is, also posts ive made to people on here and their responses (to let me know im not alone) wrote down nice supportive txt messages in it from my friends (to show that people care about me) scanned achievements e.g passing my driving theory, achieving qualifications etc and printed them off. (to show myself I'm not useless I CAN do things even if i think I cant) Going to write the positive that guy said about me during the interview, Inspirational quotes and notes from when I started therapy how mashed my head was to remind me of how much I've achieved :)

Good for you and good luck with your next interview! While we have our challenges during high anxiety periods, we can't lose sight that we're still living our lives too! Some day soon, you'll be looking back on this experience and realize how strong you were. My Mom battled this for a year. 20 years later, she tells me that she's glad she went thru it. She learned alot about herself and feels she's a stronger person.
