ptsd and accident

Last week I was ina car accident, my car it totaled, I was hurt, but not too bad. I already had panic attacks for years, but now I am petrified to drive. Even when I am a passanger I freak out. At night when I am trying to sleep, all I can see and feel is this truck hitting me. I feel like a mess. I missed my perios and am not pregnant which I think is due to the stress of this whole thing. just wanted to see if anyoen can relate or had any advice?????  Jen

You need to see a professional to help you deal with the accident and your anxiety.

Already having anxiety issues can make a tramatic experience worse.  I agree you need to talk to someone to deal with this accident.  Find a way to rescue yourself.  find a way to make the memory just that...a memory. One without the emotional attachment.  So you can think of it without the fear, or pain.  I'm working on memories of my own.  it takes time and is real hard but you can get to a place where this is possible.
