40 mg paxil

i was diagnosed with gad about a month ago. im 22. i started out at 10 mg of paxil, then 20, and recently went to 30 while in the phych ward. I think my doctor diagnosed me wrong saying i had Gad when i really have panic disorder, my only  symptom is shortness of breath now. my question is should i go up to 40 mg? is that on the high side?  dont get me wrong i definitely feel better than when all this started, but i dont know if maybe going up more might help me. just want advice

You can have both. Anxiety disorders are not often alone. Example: anxiety/depression, gad/panic disorder gad/agoraphobia gad/ocd etc. Paxil can deal with all this.

Depression is dealt with 50mg so you can go to 40 without worries. It depends how it works for you. If it helps, if you feel bad, etc.

Hi....

I've got GAD/SA and maybe some minor depression.  I've been on 60 mg of Paxil for awhile (approximately 6 months) now.  Things seem to be going well.  It is my understanding that Paxil in low doses is used to treat depression, while Paxil in higher doses works well for anxiety disorders. 

But...don't go to 40 mg unless your doctor says it is OK.
