Weird ear symptoms, anyone ever have this??
« on: February 22, 2010, 12:36:02 AM »
A couple hours ago I was sitting at my in laws and all of a sudden my left ear and the area around it started feeling warm and almost felt a little clogged.  I don't think it felt hot to the touch, but just a warm/hot feeling.  I tried to do a search on this site for a hot ear, but came up with nothing.  My hubby said he's had this happen.  Of course, the first thing that came to mind was a tumor behind my ear.  Can anyone please shed some light on this for me?  I was out in the cold this morning for awhile, but you would think if it had to do with the cold it would have happened right after I was out in it.

Is there a possibility that you had some water in it, from the shower, and it's loosening?  Or it could have to do with ear wax, some people have more than usual (I'm one of them).  It doesn't sound like anything big deal, especially if there was no pain.  Is it still clogged?  If so, they have those over the counter ear wax removal systems, my one daughter needs to use this once in a while.

Thanks for the reply.  The warm feeling is gone this morning and while it's still a little clogged, it doesn't feel as bad.  If it doesn't feel better in the next day or so, I'll try some of those ear drops.

I have the clogged feeling but not the warmth. Someone told me that it was related to high Blood Pressure, I had mine checked and it was above normal. The calmer you are, the less you'll feel it, but check your bp and talk to a doctor. Nothing to worry about though!
