I am actually reading an OCD book right now that describes these exact horrid thoughts.  No, you are not evil or even bad!!! It is a chemical imbalance in the brain, but it is horrible to experience!!!  If you want the name of the author and the book, let me know.

Classic OCD symptom. You will not hurt them however, your mind plays tricks on you.

I've had it too (and actually so has my husband, we've talked about it).  Neither of us would EVER do anything to harm eachother, our child or other loved ones but its a freaky "what if" scenario that your mind can play

I have had these thoughts as well as so many other people I know who is suffering with anxiety. It is just one of the symptoms according to my thrapist. I would not worry too much about it as you know you would not ever act on these thoughts. Therapy can really help to get your thought patterns in order:)

 :(

I've been having intrusive thoughts for a few years now; thoughts about 0669, doing sexual things to family members (even the youngest ones), etc. They make me very upset thinking I'm gonna act upon them one day. The only time I've done something sexual w. a family member was when I was like 11 and had my little cousin perform oral sex on me & touch my anus. I'm still upset w. myself for doing that. I was hospitalized (2nd time) on May 20th of this year because I was so upset over the fact that I did that. I was saying to myself "Everyone's gonna hate me & no one would love me if they knew this about me." I had a breakdown. I told my mom I should just 0473, but I didn't attempt to. I DON'T WANT TO, but the thoughts don't go away. I take Klonopin for anxiety, Celexa for depression/mood/whatever, and Seraquel XR.

Everyone....and yes, I mean EVERYONE, has crazy thoughts that pop into their minds out of the blue, and if someone tells you otherwise, they are lying. The key is to not let these thoughts get to you. Look at this way...you see all those movies and shows with twisted story lines, brutal murders, and just plain gruesome scenes? Well, someone had to think those thoughts up into their heads...right? The thoughts running through your mind are no different.

Thoughts are NOT the same as reality....they are NOT truth...and they sure aren't something that you can just suppress. You need to learn to just acknowledge the "creativity" of your mind and get on with the rest of your day. Much easier said than done...I know.

I'm also going to have to disagree with those who claim this is OCD...imo it is not. It is perfectly normal to have crazy, random, bizarre, disturbing or what have you thoughts. Like I said...this happens to EVERYONE so join the club. We're all a bit "crazy" in the head.  T
