Is feet twitching and foot moving by itself a symptom of GAD?
« on: February 20, 2010, 07:33:46 AM »
I was lying in bed after sleep and feeling anxious and i noticed that my left foot moved to the side by itself and then it began twitching. It did this automatically and got me scared. Has anyone experienced this , is this a symptom of GAD? The foot just moving to the side by itself without me doing so?

hi,   my muscles twiched so much, all over, you could see them moving. its minor for me now.
remember its the over production of adrenalin that affects our nervous system and things that we would not notice before we can notice now. dont be alarrmed and dont let it get you fearful. it will calm down as your nerves settle.

I think its a sympton of nervousness, I do it a lot, when invigilating exams I had to make people aware that they were doing it and others could hear. However mine gets worse at night, and somehow developed from twiching to hitting my head so hard that hair fell out.

I guess its the level, if your doing it all the time its caused by the worry/stress which is caused by the GAD.

Thaks guys.

As well as the twitching my foot seemed to move by itself in bed, this is anxiety isnt it, i.e. the foot sliding/moving to the side by itself in bed?

certasinly sounds like it to me, anxiety can do alot to your body, remember the key is to go foreward without fear and if you feel it moving just say, its just anxiety. this is not always easy to do remember but it will get better!

anxiety and twitching are cozy bed fellows.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

Absolutely!  I had a twitch under my left eye.  For a couple days my left thigh muscle twitched almost all day.  Sometimes if I'm sitting and I move my leg in just the right position it will start spasming all over the place like I can't control it.  Definitely a symptom of a sensitized nervous system.  Ignore it like any other symptom.  Either that or have some fun with it.  ;)

Best Wishes,
Brian

Well my feet are twitching now, and thats in part as I am overdrawn (what with a wasted Taxi journey on Friday  >:( )
I just paid my Barclaycard, but I bet they will still charge me as I put the money into Barclays a day before it is due and it takes 3 days for them to pay it off the card.

My oversraft was 37 over the limit now its just under 10.00 over the limit and I need that 10 now, on Thursday I get paid.
