yellow stool..sorry..should i be worried??

hello everyone..i have semi been diagnozed with ibs although still waiting on medical exams..i normal have loose stool and many times a day..but the past couple of days i have been constipated and what does come out is very yellow??anyone know if this is to do with ibs or if do you have the smae problem...thanks

May indicate your food is passing too quickly through your digestive tract. May also indicate GERD.

Hey I also have yellow stool at times. I have GERD though so my guess is its nothin big to worry about. Sounds like an irritated stomach,gerd or ibs. No biggy.

I sometimes get this when I am feeling anxious....it settles after a few days.

Anyone ever had blood in their stool...actually in it...not due to hemmerhoidsetc......due to IBS ot another stomach thing? Am a little worried

is the yelllow stuff mucous like? if so, that's IBS- happens to me when i'm really anxious and my diet is crap.

My gastroenterologist says to ignore the color of your stool unless it is completely black and tar-like in consistency (which could indicate bleeding higher-up in the digestive system).
As I recall, yellow could be from extra bile trying to break-down the fat in your diet.  Have you been eating fatty foods lately?  If so, your stool usually floats.

Hmmm...yeah that could exaplin my stool too....mine has been green when I actually look in the toilet (yes I look..weird I know) but. When I wipe. Its like..REALLY yellow. Anxiety maybe? From what u guys have been saying it most likely is. I feel better. Ha ha!

whoever posted about the color of your bowels- that's absolutely right. unless you have blood pouring out, or your bowels are black, it's fine. they are going to change colors depending on what you eat

Hey people have the right to feel worried.  I had a green stool and was so worried when I looked at internet sights and it said it could be cancer.  I didn't have it only for a couple of days, but I was worried and asked.  I found out it could be from having too much sugar intake with not enough fiber in my diet, and wa la, I was drinking about a 2 liter bottle of Mountain Dew a day, and no fiber, hardly.  I was also told that it could be a lack of potassium in my diet, and then remembered when  I had blood test last, the doctor told me to eat no less than one banana a day, because I was low on potassium, well, guess what?  I wasn't doing that either.  So I cut back on sugar, and I"m eating a banana a day, and I'm completely back to normal.  Well I guess I should say I would be if every little thing didn't cause me so much grief.

yellow stool all that is is bile salts it just means it didnt have time to stay in your colon long enuff to turn brown it starts out green then yellow then its stored in your colon to give it that brown color its normal when to worry is when its white like chawk!

my doc said my potassium was low...but i had been eating bananas out the 0278!!! and still nothing! and i had high bile content...wtf? idk...just makes no sense to me. yeah my stool is still yellow-ish. so im assuming its just my gerd. but i still dont undestand how it can happen

have you had your gallbladder checked out?Hida scan is the best thing to check your gallbadder out and if you dont have a gallbladder your stools will aways be yellow!there are such things as habba syndrome sorry for the spelling im not the best!And hida scan can rule that out and habba dont kill you but can cause problems like what you say you have and so can i.b.s!

I have IBS and i have stools like that all the time especially when im nervous or anxious ! it could be a problem you might want to check out all i know is your not alone!

Anyhow, I am not sure if this thread is still up and going or if it is close to being closed, but I have had similar symptoms.  I worry that it might be pancreatic cancer (even though the chances are incredibly small).  I have GERD and IBS (along with GAD and OCD) and am pretty sure this is the cause (have had plenty of tests - blood, ultrasounds, colonoscopy, endoscopy).  However, the irrational thoughts creep in and out at times.
