Is my friend an alcoholic?

She is my roommate and she seems like she needs to have 1 beer or 1 glass of wine per night. If she doesn't, she has a really bad attitude. We'll go out to dinner and I'll order ice water to be a good role model and she'll order a light beer thinking that's okay. When she DOES drink on weekends she'll have 4-5 drinks and get extremely confident when she talks. Shes not afraid to tell me about my negatives or the bad things about me. Then in the morning when she's sober she acts like nothing happened!

She is not an alcoholic, but it would be best to detox, only drink when going out etc, your body and brain gets used to it.

Basically even light to moderate drinkers can go through a form of withdrawal, tat includes anxiety and trouble sleeping, see if you can convince her to drink fruit juice and water before going to bed (maybe with water near the bed, grape juice or alcohol free beers can be a good substitute if she does not want to change her reutine, also point out that it may improve complexion as alcohol dehydrates the skin if she cuts back to just drinking socially.
