someone please respond
« on: February 09, 2010, 11:37:32 AM »
I constantly have muscular chest pain, and in certain parts of my back. I mean it gets worser when its time for that time of the month and my joints are always popping. I think I may have some fibromyalgia! I mean its like I can never get relief. Its only better when im not stressed but not completely gone. I have already talked to my doctor about this, I also have very heavy breasts and she seems to think thats the only problem. And i am currently under the care of a cardiologist, but this is muscular pain!!!

Hi gagirl, :action-smiley-065:

I'm new to this forum and came across your post... has anyone actually replied to you? I do hope so.

I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia 5 years ago,... prior to this I have been to see my GP for 15 years for severe pain, and the only way I could describe it to him was... it is like being run over by a truck or a steam roller. It was only by chance that I saw an article on FM in a magazine, took this to my GP and got my referral to a rheumatologist immediately. I wasn't only seen by my GP,... I had countless visits and tests from the hospital trying to find out where the pain came from. ;*) Looking back on my medical history now I can honestly tell you that majority of my Doctor visits where directly linked to the FM over 15 years of time.

It takes most of Fibro- people a long time to get the diagnosis, but it is starting to get a little bit easier every year since the awareness grows a little every year. :happy0151: You will always have doctors who say Fibromyalgia doesn't exist... change your doctor and find one who is willing to at least consider the diagnosis. The best way to do this is by word of mouth. I can give you some really good links to FM forums where you might find someone from your area who might be able to recommend someone. Don't give up... the diagnosis can take years!!!
