vomiting, confusion, extreme tiredness.  Now with a 5 month old, they need naps, but this would be unusually tired.

Don't worry too much.  We mommas do that  :winking0008:, but believe me as a mom to 6, I've seen many a bumps to the head that only caused a goose egg and a few tears.  None of my kids had brain bleeds.

MOST anxiety happens at the subconscious level.  JUST because you don't feel consciously anxious or had a day or two of calm doesn't mean your mind & body are relaxed.  It can take months of reduced anxiety before a body goes back to a more non-reactive state.

You poor thing!  That is the worst feeling as a parent, when your kid gets hurt from something like that.

This is what I learned at a first aid course:  Judge the severity of the fall by the height and force of the impact.  So falling 8ft from the playground equipment is much more likely to be an injury than tripping.  Ramming into something with a bike more likely than walking into something.....

So your daughter fell only from her little chair, which could not be more than a few inches from the ground.  And since her head is heavy, she went straight forward and banged.  It does not seem like much of a fall, and the head, especially forehead, is nice and hard.

Just wait until she starts to walk.  That was the time my daughter experienced lots of banged heads!

Ugh..I remember going through that with my daughter!!  One time she banged her head so hard, and cried for a while, got tired from crying, and took a long nap.  I remember freaking out the whole time she was sleeping.  I called the doctor.  I still remember him saying...."if she cried after the fall, she is FINE".  She was fine.  I also remember my nephew falling off a picnic bench that had CONCRETE underneath it.  He hit his head on the dang CONCRETE!!  We all heard it...UGH!!!  He cried for a while, and had a huge lump, but he was fine.  I think he was around 2 at the time.  She's gonna be just fine

I just wanted you to know that every parent I know has done this.  My friend's son fell off the bed onto the wooden floor.  When babies are nearly-sitting age and more mobile than you think, they can be placed in an armchair  to play and you don't realize they'll slide off and to the floor.  Or roll off a changing table (the reason I've never used those - safer to change on a bed, sofa, or carpet.)  Once I admitted to my husband that our daughter had tumbled off the armchair but now seemed OK.  He then admitted that she had done the same under his watch just a few days prior but he had not mentioned it.  Obviously we both felt like bad parents but we had both let the same thing happen.  It has to do with the age they are becoming more mobile, and parents failing to keep up with what they are capable of doing - they need more protection.

I bet if she slept and is playing, she is OK.  You're talking about a bouncer, right?  Those things are very close to the floor, so she should be fine.  She's probably too old for that now, though.  If she needs to be strapped in or she'll fall out, my call is: possibly too big.  Soon it will be time to move on to  something more fun that is designed for sitting or nearly-sitting babies.  (Exersaucer if you like those.  I know that some people think they're not good for kids but my daughter loved hers.  Pretty good head control is needed and the ability to sit, too.)
