Relief from panic disorder with Lexapro
« on: January 16, 2010, 08:53:59 AM »
Has anybody found relief from panic disorder with Lexapro?  I'm not sure if it's worth starting up because I am feeling like I have gotten better to some degree but am still feeling discomfort and not like my old self. ::)

I had success with Prozac and Seroquel.

Sometimes we start to feel somewhat OK but that shouldn't stop you from trying the Lexapro.  Others have used that here with great success.

Let me know how you do.

If you're still at the start, your weird feeling could disappear soon. With each med you get temporary effects (one week or two) and permanent effect (until you stop, and those are recognizable when you still have them after several weeks). And about the wanted effect, you will feel it after one month. You may feel it before, but it could be even better after one month.

Lexapro did help my anxiety/panic. It got worse in the beginning and caused some bad side effects but I got through it and began to feel normal again. I was able to wean off both times I took it.

Lexapro has always helped me with anxiety and panic, specially panic attack. You just have to find which dose is best for you.

I had panic attacks before I started using the lexapro. But after taking it for about 5 weeks, im thinking of getting off of it due to a raise in my general anxiety as well as depression. Im not sure whether im just not taking enough (10mg) or if its not the right drug for me. Im also not sure if drugs are right for me at all. There have been many success stories though involving Lexapro, so its definitely worth a shot.

Good Luck,
Nick
