pressure in my head
« on: January 11, 2010, 01:08:37 AM »
I got this pressure in my head that is like in my ears and front of my head mostly. It seems to get worse when I walk around does anyone else have this problem. I just started fluoxetine about a week ago. I keep thinking I have to have high blood pressure or something and its freaking me out. I had my blood pressure checked when it was going on today and it was 127/85 and was 130/80 the the other day and I was freaking out a little when those where taken thats why there a little high. I'm just stressing so bad because I have been feeling really bad for two days and this is one of the problems I have been having. I want to run to the ER but my family is telling me no everything is fine but I'm freaking out about it. should I be freaking out about it.

Been there and i had the exact problem, 6th of march a week after the GAD appeared i had this feeling of pressure in my head and it was compressing my nose sometimes but mostly the front of my brain, it moved around to the ears once in awhile. I was informed that it occurs due to medication use/increase blood flow on its own which forces your body to send in more blood to your brain which creates the feeling of pressure and as a GAD sufferer you develop this keen sense for inner body sensations such as feeling your pulse and other elements which might add fuel to your worries.

The good news is that it will later disappear on the condition you have a good diet, no alcohol , tobacco or drugs usage but give it a good couple of months. What i would do is go visit a Neurologist get all scans done so you clear out all brain pathologies involving real pressure in the head/cancer.

The bad news is that GAD usualy evolves with time removing some symptoms and adding new ones so by the time your pressure is partially gone you will find things to complain about like headaches, chest pains and so on. Its not a fact but thats what happened to me, hope that you won't have to go trough all the suffering as i did.

Keep in mind that once all tests have been done ekg, blood, scans of such you are 99% safe, the rest is just fighting your GAD with false courage and ignoring it as much as possible.
