Ok so Since the first day I delt with anxiety I have been tired. Went to bed tired woke up tired so on and so forth. When Chronic Fatigue is mentioned as an symptom of anxiety. Does that mean you can be tired all the time? What exactly is Chronic Fatigue? I mean I really don't worry much like I used to. Not at all as a matter of fact. I get a little anxous every once and a while but I haven't had an attack in 7 months and I have only been dealing with this for 11 months now. If I was stressed out I think I would feel different. If I was depressed I wouldn't know. I have looked for so many signs and now I am just a tad aggrivated that I can't feel rested.

Advice????

I know exactly how you feel on this.

Anxiety and chronic fatigue (not syndrome) are closely linked, I believe its due to a resulting chemical imbalance. Too much or too little adrenalin causes muscle fatigue. Anxiety stresses out your adrenal glands.

Also, if you have IBS like I do, it can create alot of fatigue on its own. Additionally, disturbed sleep patterns create fatigue. All these things together lead to major fatigue.

It also depends on how you got into anxiety to start with...major sustained stress would have led you into fatigue, and anxiety is then let out of the box which just makes fatigue worse. Its so complicated/multi-factorial.

The fact you're not now that anxious doesnt matter - the genie is out of the bottle, i.e. the imbalance  is now there and will take a long time to reach your previous equilibrium.

Hang in there.

Does anxiety have a bad effect on your body? A silly question, because it's probably just obvious that it does. I'ts just the previous person that posted Jitterbug you said anxiety stresses out your adrenal glands.. Surely this cannot be good for you? Then again maybe you shouldn't answer the question, i'll only get worried and think i'm dying or something. I study psychology in college, we've only just finished learning about the stress module and believe me it does not bode well with having an axiety disorder lol. When we learnt about stress being linked to illness and when i fell ill with two colds in two months i thought my immune system was to pot and that i'd end up with meningitus or something. x (New to the forum, please bear with me, i introduced myself in Absent's posting, actually i should probably introduce myself in a whole new post, but i'm not sure how) x

I do thank you jitter for the reply. It helped alot. Although still tired lol. And as to the above post. The only bad harmful thing I have ever heard of anxiety doing to your body is making it age a little more. Stress causes yout to look older and feel older like more worn out and when your brain thinks you are more worn out it is more that of a symptom of old age. As old age, You experiance alot of stress in your life and other things. Other than that I am not sure.
