Brittany murphy dies, sends me to HA mode!

She was the girl who played in Clueless and 8 mile and she was only 32 and it said she went into cardiac arrest. That's crazy! I just had a cardio appt 2 weeks ago where the dr said my heart is structrally sound, my cholestrol is amazing and he sees nothing wrong, but seeing someone that young and seemingly in good shape, die just sends me into full blown panic mode!

I'm with you there! I actually just posted a similar topic on here before I saw this one! I'm in need of some reassurance, just like you! Hopefully we can get some people to chime in and help us out by shining some rational light on this issue.

holy cow I just saw this too and was coming here to start a thread saying the same stuff!  Like, what the hell?!  I'm hoping we get some sort of answer relating the cause to drugs or wrongful medication overdose or something, just, something!  Because, like you, I freaked out at the possibility that it was just, one of those flukes, jeeze it's freaky and I too need some sort of reassurance.

I was like this after Natasha Richardson's accident too.  So now I freak out if I get a headache or slightly bumped in the head.  They never gave an actual answer when the newscaster asked the doctor "So what are we supposed to go to the hospital after every knock on the head?"  It seemed like they basically said "yeah."  Because a little girl got hit in the head with a baseball and the same thing happened to her, except she survived.

I saw this report as well about Brittany Murphy, and it is very sad. I also figured this would be a trigger for some people. Just remember, there is probably more to the story. I'm sure we will find out in time what caused this. SO, try not to be alarmed. A heart doesn't just go into cardiac arrest for no reason.

This has me a bit freaked out too.  I'm thinking it was due to one of two things (or both) but not going to say, as I'm just guessing.

I really liked her a lot.

skiba, I know what you mean. Sadly, my first thought was drugs...my second thought was anorexia. I saw a photo of her on 0278 from a couple weeks ago and she looked terribly thin. A healthy, young person does not just have a cardiac arrest out of the blue. It's tragic, whatever it was.

Yes I would encourage everyone to listen to the comments about the out of the blue part - there was likely more to the story than just sudden out of nowhere deadly heart issues.

Sadly things happen to people and often times it is from illicit drug use.  I always feel for families who have to deal with a loss at such a young age.

Heavy drug use would lead to the weight loss and the cardiac arrest.  I consider heavy drug and/or alcohol use subconcious *******... that's horribly sad.  I really liked her  .

On CNN.com it said that "police and homicide detectives would be investigating the death" - to me, that says that she didn't just go into cardiac arrest and die.  Something happened.  Wait on all the facts before you freak out.

I am not a heart worrier, but I can see where this would be a trigger for some people.

I'm a heart worrier too but this didnt phase me one bit. I guess for now I'm still listening to my rational side more than my irrational one (but don't get me wrong....I've given into my irrational side MANY times)j. To compare those of us who have been to a reputable doctor and gotten a clean bill of health to someone whom we have NO idea of what their lifestyle was like, and personally I have NO doubt in my mind that this poor girl succombed to the same pressures of many hollywood young people......drugs and alcohol.............there is nothing to be compared here. I'm very sad shes gone......but I'm guessing she made some wrong choices in her young life. I saw a picture of her recently and she looked like death. Please try and not waste any more of your time worring about this.........unless youve led your life using illegal narcotics and who knows what else.........listen to your doc and try and believe him!

Brittany Murphy also battled anorexia.  That affects your heart - and about every other organ in your body!  Add drug use to that type of issue and it is just a recipe for disaster.

Oh I read that Brittany's husband didn't want an autopsy done on her. So that's a little weird...

i'm so sorry that this kind of thing may trigger an anxiety attack in some people.  HA sux

i'm not trying to make rumors or anything, but my first thought was diet pills.  they are so dangerous and often are associated with heart issues.  some folks were saying she had gotten very skinny, so it made me wonder.

unfortunately, i think the odds are that, like Heath Ledger, there were probably some sort of drugs involved, whether legal or not.

ughh gosh I am just freaking out that it's going to happen to me now! I am having chest pain, chest tightness and just feel short of breath. It's almost like we imagine our symptoms.. but they feel so real?

OH MY GOSH! I just saw on the news that the coroner thinks that Brittany died of natural causes????? WHAT? OMG I am freaking out!!!!!!!!

But they are saying no drugs involved? This is just freaking me out. The autopsy will be done today I believe with the toxicology report. It just doesn't seem like someone at 32 would randomly just go into cardiac arrest? Maybe she had a heart problem that she didn't know about?

I know the feeling, my anxiety has been a bit rough the last few days and now after hearing this it just makes it worse.....hopefully there is more to the story, everytime I hear of stuff like this it flips me out and my anxiety goes up....grrrrr.....
