Very Low Temperature - Worried

Hi everyone,

I've been doing my best to listen to the Dr and not worry so much. Been doing ok at it mostly...but this low temperature is frightening. Even the nurse said "hmmm....that's quite low!!" I woke a little while ago and was freezing. Noone else is cold in the house, so I took my temp. 96.3!!! I told the Dr about my temp going really low....he doesn't seem to worry about it.

Does anyone else have low temp fluctuations? I used to always be 98.6 unless sick. Maybe my body has changed and this is the new me?

I have temp fluctuations too. I think maybe everyone does - we just pay more attention to things like that. Mine can range anywhere between 97 - 98.6. I think 98.6 is just the average, but some people naturally have lower or higher normal temps.

When I first get up in the morning, my temperature can be low also; 96.3-96.9. As the day goes on,
it slowly rises. I would not worry as what you are experiencing is usually perfectly normal. Sometimes
when you are very cold, it can drop also.

my temp is pretty stable a 97.3 but its gone even to 95's in the mornings. My parents temps are consistently in the 95's and they are perfectly ok

Have your thyroid function looked at during your next physical. Not a big deal. Pretty common issue
