New Holiday/Christmas Theme and Other Changes
« on: December 07, 2006, 10:20:23 AM »
Greetings

Several changes and improvements were made to the forum yesterday and are still being worked on today. Lots left to do to get ready for the holidays! :xmas-smiley-031:.

(1#) A new Holiday/Christmas theme was added. I use Firefox 2.0 personally and this is what I was viewing the new theme in as it was being installed. Later, I discovered that it did not render correctly in Internet Explorer and so I wrote the theme's author and he was kind enough to sort some of the problems out but there are still a few other IE-related issues and these are being worked on (for example, the string of blinking lights between categories does not appear when viewed in IE, the chat counter does not display the number of current members in chat, etc).

(2#) 48 Holiday/Christmas smileys have been added. In order to use these in your posts, you will need to click on the "more" link at the end of the main row of smileys. I've tried to be sensitive to all holidays and religions by including a diverse array of different smileys from the limited number of them available on the internet. My apologies if I've missed anything. Please let me know and I'll add any new ones as quickly as possible.

(3#) The forum itself has been upgraded to the latest version and the main theme (Oxygen) will be upgraded sometime later today (which means more features!).

(4#) For the past month, any new member signing up for an account on the forum had to be "pre-approved". This was done in order to decrease spam. Sometimes new members would have to wait as long as a day or more before they could even post. This also meant that by the time they were finally "approved", they most likely either lost interest and went elsewhere or forgot what they were going to post in the first place. Yesterday, the settings were changed so that new members can now activate their own accounts and begin posting immediately (while they are still in the "mood"). As a result, the post count by new members has already gone up considerably so that means more new members and more chatters :santa5:.

Finally, regardless of what holiday you celebrate this year, we at Anxiety Zone would like to wish you a happy and joy-filled one!.

- Regards, GreyGoose
