Breakdown

Last week i had a kind of breakdown, altho all the official stuff doesn't accept that term. My therapist said something about dissociating from reality. just left my house after 10 pm in pajamas, robe, and slippers---grabbed my pocketbook, a hat, and left. My husband came running after me and we were out there a long time while i insisted i had to leave because iam not good enough to be in the house..would only sit in a dirty chair when he finally got me back on my property. He said I was talking like a little girl, not the woman he knows.

Saw a therapist right away Monday morning and have been doing better...but what causes this?

I don't know.  What did the therapist say to you about it?

Mostly just asked questions about how I felt, etc., and mentioned stress. Even tho I am better right now, I still jave moments when I just want to run away.

Breakdowns occur when the stress/pain of depression/anxiety outweighs the persons coping skills at that time, so severe depression, severe unrelenting stress.

I had a breakdown recently and wandered out to the hosp in pjs, hadnt washed for days etc

It was horrid
